Taken from a letter to Hugh Budgen.

Completed ITW at CRANAGE in OCTOBER 1944. Assembled in a HANGAR to be told that we were being taken off course since the losses in the 1000 bomber raids had been less than expected and we were no longer required to continue our training.

Spent the next few months until end of hostilities on OPS Duties doing odd jobs. At end of war put back on training, on and off, until passed out as F/E Lancaster at end of 1946.

All a long time ago.
